Totalitarianism

SPQR

What is totalitarianism?  Totalitarianism may be defined as the continued encroachment, through governmental affairs, of all personal matters. The oxygen of independence and civic mindedness is extinguished.  Diversity (real diversity) is destroyed.  No matter escapes the relentless spread of the states doctrine and ceaseless propaganda.  Through Courts, through school, through media – ideology and compulsion channel all to one entrance. Virtue, intellect and independence are punished.  Our greatest right – the right of association – has been rendered largely meaningless.

We Are Not So Special

It can happen quick.

No doubt Rome thought – and at one time was – special.  But Rome begged random barbarians for salvation.  Russia did not transition from Czar to western democracy – but rather a hellish utopian elite monstrosity. Why shoudn’t it happen here – or is the public sector Peronism of South America our destiny.

If we are always but a generation removed from the jungle, then one can see dystopia all about.
